This is a photo of what I made when Riverford Organics sent us way too many strawberries, and some rhubarb.
Strawberries are so expensive when you buy them from the supermarket - so it's hard to imagine that somewhere on a farm in Kent, there might be a glut of them. So many that your vegbox contains some extras and then some.
And let's try not to compare them to supermarket strawberries. These are juicy, sweet, tasty strawberries - not little watery mush-balls that were probably semi-frozen on their journey over from Kenya.
Strawberries and rhubarb together are an amazing combination - I ended up putting them together to make this delicious Strawberry and Rhubarb Meringue Pot recipe from BBC Good Food.
